This course focuses on developing a strong foundation in the principles and applications of geometry. Students will explore the properties and relationships of points, lines, angles, shapes, and solids through logical reasoning and problem-solving. Key topics include congruence, similarity, parallel and perpendicular lines, right triangles and trigonometry, circles, area and volume, and coordinate geometry. Emphasis is placed on understanding geometric proofs, applying formulas, and enhancing spatial visualization skills. This course prepares students for advanced mathematics and everyday practical use.

The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing and drawing conclusions from data. The topics covered in this course are divided into four major themes: Exploring Data: Describing patterns and departures from patterns, Sampling and Experimentation: Planning and conducting a study, Anticipating Patterns: Exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation, Statistical Inference: Estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses. Students use graphing calculators and computer technology extensively to organize and analyze data. All students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses are required to take the Advanced Placement Examinations in May.
